Cool Stuff To Do With Letters

Pretty shocking, huh? Text color and style of fonts can have a major impact on your page. So does background color.

This is the lettering default size, color and boldness, used on the we, but I can change it to add italics, bold or underline. I can even combine all three. However, if I try to do a cool <font face="bizzarebits"> and the surfer visiting your page doesn't have bizzarebits loaded on their computer, they will only see the default font, which is New Times Roman.

Which is why I'm so very fond of <font face="ariel, helvetica">. Any PC capable of cruising the 'net will be able to read Ariel and every Mac product similarly endowed will be able to read Helvetica.

I can change the font sizes a number of ways. Here's a few:

This is H1 or headline one.

This is H5. Note the difference in size and boldness. This bigger the number the smaller the typeface.

This is font size "+1." This is font size "+8."

This is font size "1." This is font size "8."

This is font size "-1."This is font size "-4."

Try the numbers between these extremes and see what you get.

And of course, I can always add color to my letters.

There are a variety of ways to add color and a lot of colors beyond those recognizeable by letter names. Check out the colors page to see them.

Non-word color designations are put in with the "#" sign.
